Rules

For the health and safety of all members, Antioch Recreation Association, has outlined rules for proper pool use that all members and guest must adhere to.

Our members are responsible for knowing and following these rules and informing guests of our policies.

Pool Rules

  1. Members must sign in and register any guests prior to swimming.
  2. Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.
  3. The ARA board reserves the right to terminate membership for misuse of membership.
  4. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a person over 14 years of age.
  5. Non-potty trained children must wear swim diapers. Swim diapers may be purchased at the snack bar.
  6. Proper bathing suits are required for swimming.
  7. No cut off shorts or thongs allowed.
  8. Please dress modestly as we are a family-friendly environment.
  9. No diving in areas less than 5 feet.
  10. No flips or back dives are allowed off the side of the pool.
  11. No glass containers of any kind permitted.
  12. No alcohol or drugs may be brought onto premises.
  13. No smoking allowed inside gated area (there is a designated smoking area outside the gated area).
  14. Under no circumstances are pets or animals allowed at the pool.
  15. A 10 minute break will be taken every hour at 10 minutes to the hour for adult swim. Adult swim is for persons 18 year or older.
  16. Lifeguard’s instructions must be obeyed at all times by members and guests for maximum safety.
  17. Persons entering the pool after closing time will be trespassing and subject to arrest.
  18. Management has the right and responsibility to close the pool when deemed necessary for safety measures.

Baby Pool Rules

  1. No lifeguard is on duty at any time in baby pool area.
  2. Non-potty trained children must wear swim diapers.
  3. Only children 8 years of age and younger are allowed in baby pool area, this includes playground equipment.
  4. All children in baby pool area must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  5. No diving is allowed in baby pool area.
  6. No water guns of any kind are allowed in baby pool area.
  7. A 10 minute break will be take every hour at 10 minutes to the hour.

Diving Board/Well Rules

  1. Only one diver on the board at a time.
  2. Only one bounce on the board and divers must jump straight out from board.
  3. No running or horse playing on diving boards.
  4. No goggles, masks, glasses, or hats allowed when going off the boards.
  5. No flotation devices permitted in the Well, including kickboards.
  6. Lifeguards and management reserve the right to end any games in the Well at any time.

Weather Policy

  1. Weather policy is for the safety of the members. The association follows American Red Cross guidelines for thunder and lightning.
  2. From the time staff hears thunder, or sees lightning, the pool will be cleared for 30 minutes.
  3. In the case of lightning, the pool deck must be cleared due to the danger of a strike.
